Kuberan Wine Maroon Kanchipuram Silk Saree

Pure Kanchipuram silk saree in deep wine maroon and rose pink two-colour iridescent plain silk with an all-over fine diagonal self-stripe (kora diagonal) body weave — continuous fine diagonal lines running across the entire body in a subtle self-colour tonal texture, creating a characteristic directional shimmer against the deep wine-rose iridescent silk ground. The body transitions via a bold deep purple temple gopuram large-spike (kalasam) korvai weave — a dramatic row of large, sharply pointed temple tower spikes in deep purple silk, one of the most architecturally iconic korvai transition patterns in Kanchipuram weaving.

Anchored by a spectacular broad antique copper-rose gold zari tissue border composed of multiple horizontal bands of dense gold zari figurative animal friezes — the most prized and technically demanding motifs in Kanchipuram weaving:

• A dense gold zari caparisoned elephant (gaja) frieze — a continuous row of large, majestic caparisoned elephants with decorated howdahs, tasselled caparisons, raised trunks and individual tusk and toe details, each elephant flanked by scrolling floral vine and lotus bud separators, all rendered in fine antique gold zari on the copper-rose tissue ground
• A dense gold zari large peacock (mayura) frieze — a continuous row of large peacocks with dramatically spread tail feathers in full display, each peacock rendered with individually delineated tail feather eyes, wing details and crest, flanked by scrolling floral vine separators in fine antique gold zari
• Fine gold zari scrolling floral vine and leaf creeper (pushpa latha) separator bands between each figurative frieze
• Fine gold zari small dot-bead and arrow-head edge bands at top and base
