A fine grid of tiny gold zari bootis covers the red silk body, so the saree shimmers before you even reach the border. Paisley and temple-triangle zari bands run the length, and the pallu centres on a large lotus medallion framed by creepers. Traditional weaving, made for the biggest days on the calendar.
