FAQ

Care & Maintenance
How should I wash a cotton saree for the first time?
To lock in the dyes, soak the saree in a bucket of cold water mixed with two tablespoons of rock salt for 10–15 minutes. Rinse it out without using soap. For subsequent washes, use a mild liquid detergent and hand wash gently. Avoid harsh wringing.

Should I starch my cotton sarees?
Starching is optional but highly recommended if you prefer the traditional, crisp pleats associated with cotton sarees. You can use homemade rice water starch or commercial liquid starch. If you prefer a soft, flowing drape, you can skip starching entirely.

How do I prevent the colors from bleeding?
Handloom cottons, especially dark or vibrant colors like indigo, maroon, and black, are prone to bleeding initially. Always wash dark colors separately in cold water. Do not soak them for extended periods, and dry them immediately after washing.

What is the best way to dry and iron them?
Never dry cotton sarees in direct sunlight, as this will fade the colors. Hang them in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Iron the saree while it is still slightly damp on a medium-to-high heat setting. If the saree is bone-dry, use a steam iron or spray a light mist of water before pressing.

How should I store them in my wardrobe?
Store cotton sarees in a cool, dry place. Wrap premium or delicate cottons (like Jamdani or Chanderi) in pure cotton or muslin cloth bags to allow the fabric to breathe while protecting it from moisture and insects. Avoid hanging heavily starched sarees on hangers for months, as they can develop permanent creases or tear at the fold; fold them flat instead.

Wonderful experience!

I ordered two sarees from the UK to be delivered to my address in India. The shopping experience was hassle free with Mr Ganesh helping me over WhatsApp to select the best saree pattern and design. Without Ganesh's help, I wouldn't have been able to select the perfect sarees for my boy's party. Thanks for your help :)

Very good collection. Even better staff.
We came here for wedding shopping. Ms. Veena is brilliant sales person with tonnes of patience. The other staff members are also very friendly. They showed us the sarees without any hesitation and made sure we were satisfied before shopping. We shopped here entirely for everyone and it's a very good place to shop. Highly recommend to visit this store
