The close-up detail reveals the true complexity of this weave — at each grid intersection, the gold zari lines form a small raised cross-point motif, and between the intersections, the gold zari lines are composed of alternating solid gold zari bands and fine dot-dash sequences — two distinct gold zari textures within the same grid line, a hallmark of the highest Kanchipuram craftsmanship.
