Pure Kanchipuram silk saree in deep wine maroon plain silk with alternating scattered gold zari large oval sunflower (surya pushpa) buttas and small gold zari diamond cross (kattam) buttas across the body — the large oval sunflower buttas are densely woven circular-oval blooms with radiating petals in fine antique gold zari; the small diamond cross buttas are compact four-point diamond cross forms, placed in alternating diagonal rows across the deep wine maroon silk ground.

Anchored by a broad contrast antique warm cream gold zari tissue border featuring a spectacular large meenakari multi-colour figurative parrot pair (kili yugal) pallu motif — two large, ornate parrots rendered in deep teal green, crimson red and antique gold zari on the warm cream tissue ground, each parrot with individually delineated spiral body feathers, striped wing and tail details, a bold crimson red breast and a teal green head with a curved beak, set against a background of fine gold zari scrolling floral vine and leaf (pushpa latha) creeper fill. The kili yugal (parrot pair) is one of the most auspicious and beloved motifs in Kanchipuram weaving, traditionally associated with love, fertility and marital bliss. Korvai construction.
