Warm, celebratory, and steeped in Kanchipuram tradition — this pure silk saree in radiant coral salmon is woven with a fine gold zari check grid (kattam) across the entire body, each square framing an alternating pair of motifs — a gold zari floral bouquet butta and a gold zari bird (parrot/peacock) butta. The two motifs alternate in a classic Kanchipuram chequerboard arrangement, creating a lively, rhythmic pattern that is both festive and deeply traditional.

The saree is anchored by a broad deep violet border featuring a magnificent gold zari peacock procession — a continuous frieze of peacocks in full display, rendered in dense antique gold zari against the deep violet ground. The border is composed of two identical peacock procession bands flanking a broad plain violet silk centre band, finished with a narrow gold zari edge. This is one of the most iconic and revered Kanchipuram border designs — the mayil (peacock) border.

1. How should I store my Kanchipuram silk saree?
Store your Kanchipuram silk saree in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Wrap it in a soft muslin or cotton cloth rather than plastic to allow the fabric to breathe. Refold the saree every few months along different lines to prevent permanent creases. Keep neem leaves or silica gel packets nearby to protect against moisture and insects.

2. How do I clean my Kanchipuram silk saree?
Always dry clean your Kanchipuram silk saree to preserve the silk quality and gold zari work. Avoid washing at home as water and detergents can damage the delicate silk fibers and tarnish the zari. If you notice minor stains, gently blot (don't rub) with a soft, dry cloth and take it to a professional dry cleaner experienced with silk sarees.

3. Can I iron my Kanchipuram silk saree?
Yes, but with caution. Iron your Kanchipuram silk saree on the reverse side using a low to medium heat setting. Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the saree to protect the fabric and zari work. Never iron directly on the gold zari as high heat can damage the metallic threads. For best results, iron while the saree is slightly damp or use a steam iron on low setting
