Rare, refined, and quietly breathtaking, this cotton saree in soft sage green is a masterpiece of the weaver's most sophisticated art: the tone-on-tone brocade. The entire body is woven with a dense, all-over pattern of traditional motifs, majestic elephants, prowling lions, tigers, galloping horses, and lush floral vines rendered in dark forest green self-colour zari against the sage green silk ground. The result is a saree of extraordinary depth and subtlety; the motifs reveal themselves as the fabric moves and catches the light, making every drape a discovery.
The border grounds the saree with warm, earthy elegance: a wide, deep, espresso brown plain silk field, framed by a narrow gold zari geometric square repeat band, a gold zari droplet and arch stripe, a gold zari geometric row, and a delicate gold zari floral vine band at the base, warm gold against dark brown, understated and perfectly balanced.
